As a Waterer, itis as easy as 1, 2, 3...

Remove cap and place finger over outlet hole
With finger still blocking outlet hole, fill the resevoir with water
Replace the cap and remove finger from outlet hole

The water then flows into the drinking saucer and is continually replenished as it is drunk!
